Moonrise Kingdom used Super 16 but it looks like most of his others (including Grand Budapest Hotel) were shot on 35mm. Think you mean 35mm! Criterion only gave it a 2K transfer, and according to imdb, was rendered only in 2K for its theatrical run. Odds of a 4K remaster seem slim to me.
I also felt like despite the hotel as the main set piece, they too frequently left the hotel, and some of the movie's most climactic scenes took place not in the hotel. In that regard, the movie would have benefited from more simplicity: fewer characters, more intimate scenes in fewer places.
